A Photographer’s Eye
Bob MortonJuly 19 - September 20, 2014
This show is a photographic mural of landscapes and architecture. It is more than a collection of photographs; it is a series of stories. In addition to the pictorial content, I have provided a few snippets of text that convey some of my thoughts related to these photographs.
Bob Morton was born in Trail and spent his school years in Rossland. He studied science at UBC and then attended Washington State University where he received a Bachelor of Architecture degree in 1970. Bob practised architecture in Vancouver for thirty-six years, retiring in 2006.
Bob has had an interest in photography since his youth. As an architect, he developed and utilized his skills photographing building sites, models, drawings and completed projects. From time to time, he had the opportunity to assist professional photographers who had been assigned to record completed projects. This exposure to professionals increased his awareness of lighting conditions and composition of photographs.
Upon retiring and relocating to Grand Forks in 2006, Bob has found time to further develop his skills and acquire better equipment. During the past eight years, Bob and his wife, Jane, have travelled to a number of locations in the world which have been the inspiration for numerous photographs.
Bob enjoys the camera as a tool for viewing landscapes and architecture and focusing on the constituent images that form the visual world around us.
Please join us for the Opening Reception on Saturday, July 19, 2014 from 1-3 pm
