Join yoga instructor Leah Carnahan for a weekly somatic yoga class at the Grand Forks Art Gallery. Her heartfelt classes are best described as welcoming, inspiring, safe, playful, grounding, and peaceful. Leah feels that a balance of movement and stillness together brings a natural inspiration to every moment.

While she facilitates gentle movement, she encourages those around her to listen to their innermost voice and make the postures their own. Leah feels that loving acceptance of the moment as it is and of yourself as you are allows for the most rewarding practice. 

Art 101 Installation

Saturday April 5 - 10 am to 3 pm

Join GFAG Director/Curator Tim van Wijk for an engaging, hands-on introduction to the secrets of art installation. This workshop will cover the mechanics of installation hardware, the logistics of salon style and other exhibition layout strategies, the shockingly simple maths behind hanging on centres, as well as leveling tips and tricks – all to ensure that your art looks great on any wall. Participants will co-curate and install an exhibition in the Art Rental and Sales Gallery.

Art Expressions

Whether a beginner or professional artist, you will learn new things and have a lot of fun in these four sessions geared towards painting in an abstract style. Join facilitator Sandra Shore for an afternoon of play. Using basic tools, we will experiment with colour, either watercolour or acrylic, in these relaxing, easy lessons. The goal is to loosen up and discover what you enjoy, whether in colour or style. This is not a technical class and is not geared towards perfection, rather a self-exploration. All supplies are included, bring an apron or art shirt, because it will get messy!
