Velen Fanderlik





Dr Velen Fanderlik was born in Czechoslovakia and while he displayed early artist ability he followed the family tradition and became a lawyer. World War II forced Velen to flee his homeland and after short periods in England and France he eventually settled in Trail, BC and taught in a secondary school. He was very involved with the World Scouting movement. Eventually he studied art in London, San Francisco, Banff, and Vancouver. Born in 1907, he passed away in 1985. This piece was donated to the Art Rental Program by an anonymous donor.
