Peter Velisek

Peter was born in Czechoslovakia and immigrated to Canada in the early 70s. Since his arrival he has resided in the Slocan Valley living off the land as a largely self sufficient farmer. Primarily self taught and emulating the styles of the masters, he supplemented his paintings with many classes and workshops. He attended Kootenay School of the Arts studying painting and sculpture. He has had several solo exhibitions and numerous group shows. His work was featured in the Prachenske Museum in the Czech Republic in 2000.
