It will give you a chance to browse their merchandise, and shop for your holiday gift giving.
The atmosphere is amazing with the 100 year old building filled with the scents and sounds of the holiday season. You’ll discover beautiful, handmade artisan crafts, while listening to the melodious songs from the harp, played skillfully by Jenn Fenn.
Gallery 2 will be hosting the bistro again as a fundraiser for ongoing arts & culture programming and exhibitions.  Bring a friend and enjoy a hot bowl of soup or a cup of coffee or tea, purchase some Christmas baking. The Gallery’s own Court Jesters who cook for the wine tasting
Part of the fun is the hourly raffle. When you make a purchase from one of the participating artisans or from the gallery gift shop, you’ll receive a draw ticket.  Put one part of the ticket in the draw and you enter for a chance to win the door prize – your pick of any of the artisan crafts donated by our artisans.  You’ll have a chance to win every hour, so be sure and stick around and enjoy the show and come back on Saturday.  You could take home a special piece of Boundary culture, for free.

Boundary Showcase of the Arts @ gallery 2
Apr 21 @ 10:00 am – May 5 @ 3:00 pm

The opening day of the 19th Annual Arts & Culture Week is  April 21st.
Please join us as Boundary artists present their best work. We have many talented artists throughout the Boundary area, some who will be showing their work for the first time in a large gallery. The exhibition will open Saturday, April 21st to Saturday, May 5th. A reception will be held at gallery 2 on Saturday, April 28th from 1-3pm. Come meet the artists and enjoy some refreshments. Hosted by Boundary District Arts Council and Gallery 2.
“The history of this event goes back to June 1979 called ‘Spring Thing’ when the Grand Forks Arts Society had a display in conjunction with Canada Week. In March 1981 it continued in Perley School as the ‘Spring Arts Festival’ along with an evening concert. In May ‘84 ‘Spring Thing’ was expanded and held in the Boundary Mall with over 200 displays. This encouraged the Society to hold Spring Thing events in the art gallery in 1985, 1986 and 1987 but due to a lack of a coordinator and funding the last one was held in 1991.
In 1999 the Assembly of BC Arts Councils announced they would help fund local Arts Councils if they participated in an Arts Week during their specified time, the last week in April. The Grand Forks Arts Council with the help from the Grand Forks Art Gallery revived the event and has continued annually with changes in names and buildings.

Join Zev Tiefenbach Friday, September 14th at 7 pm.

Tiefenbach’s large format backlit photography captures stunning views of the landscape set against a more mundane backdrop of housing development. Te ethereal glow from the images intensifies the visual impact, imparting the euphoric sense of inevitability that often accompanies new developments.

The Wild fire that Begat Suburbia speaks to the underlying social condition where “natural disasters” are harnessed by capitalist interests who posture themselves as the divine force of inevitable progress.

Between Heaven and Earth
Dennis Evans, Richard Crack, Susan Crack
Three artists – Dennis Evans, Susan Crack and Richard Crack – have been dedicated to working creatively for over fifty years. They met as students in the mid-1960’s went their separate ways professionally after graduation. Now, as they direct their energies full-time to their creative passions, a common theme has emerged in their work.

When I Grow Up
Darlene Dautel
Darlene Dautel grew up in Grand Forks, moved away as many do and has moved back to pursue her artistic practice. A multi-disciplinary artist. Darlene’s whimsical series – When I Grow Up challenged her to explore a different medium every month for 12 months. While the subject matter varies widely – people, places, and plants figure prominently – When I Grow Up is a celebration of the simpler things life has to offer.
The result is a testament ot her technical skill and creative energy as well as an anwer to the age-old question -p ” What do you to be when you grow up?”

The Wildfire that Begat Suburbia
Zev Tiefenbach
Based on a 2007 photographic series taken in Southridge BC, a subdivision on the outskirts of Kelowna that was built on the site of the 2003 Okanagan Mountain fires, The Wildfire that Begat Suburbia examines the relationship between natural disasters, wilderness, religiosity and suburban development.

11th Annual Artisan Christmas Fair @ Gallery 2 Grand Forks Art Gallery
Nov 30 @ 10:00 am – Dec 1 @ 3:00 pm

On Friday November 30th and Saturday December 1st artisans come together at gallery 2 in the historic courthouse for the 11th Annual Artisan Christmas Fair. The building will be decked from top to bottom with the sights, sounds and scents of Christmas. The decorating theme this year is “Merry & Bright” so come check out the creative work of our Chair Teresa Rezansoff and all her helpers.

We have several artisans from the Boundary area and beyond who have been working year round to bring their best arts and crafts to the fair. It’s a great time to shop for that unique gift idea for someone special in your life.

The Board, Staff and Volunteers will be operating the Bistro as a fundraiser and the proceeds put towards ongoing arts & culture programming and exhibitions.

We will also have hourly draws, so you can benefit from your purchases and have a chance to win and choose from a variety of wares donated by our artisans. Bring your camera and take a picture by the the 15 foot Christmas tree.

Doors open Friday, November 30th from 10am-5pm and Saturday, December 1st from 10am-3pm.
