More than forty people attended the Annual General Meeting for 2016. The meeting started out with Ted Fogg awarding Erna Gobbett with a certificate for her 34 years of voluntary service as the Gallery Archivist. Erna has been saving every newspaper article, picture, ads, posters, tickets, etc for over 30 years. She has binders and binders filled with original historical documents of the arts and culture world of Grand Forks. Her work includes documenting the activities of the Boundary District Arts Council. Erna received a Lifetime Membership as well as a ticket to the upcoming 25th Annual Wine Tasting, which she was hoping for. Erna credits Richard Reid who was instrumental in getting her started on this archivist journey. Suggesting she save articles, pictures, etc. We are very thankful for Erna’s dedication, she has worked unrecognized behind the scenes on this project.
The evening went well and those who attended were engaged in the happenings of the gallery. Lots of questions were answered throughout the evening. Executive Director Terry Woodruff gave a powerpoint presentation which showed the many ways the gallery has contributed to the community and beyond and the impact it has on the young and the elderly.
The evening ended with the election of new directors and the ending of those who have served the gallery for many years, Steve Hollett, Judith Lloyd, Deanna Ludowicz, Maureen Shields, and Marlene Wollenberg stepped down or ended their terms. We want to thank these dedicated members for their years of voluntary service to the gallery.
We want to welcome our new board: Teresa Rezansoff – Chair, Erica Ham – Vice Chair, Sandy MacKelir – Treasurer, William Caley -Secretary, Cari Lynn Gawletz and Leora Gesser.
We look forward to working with the new directors as well as continuing with the current directors.
